Hip strains

Hip strains and tendonitis can lead to hip pain. There a number of large muscles, that attach to the pelvis around the hip joint, which are extremely powerful. If these are injured through an acute injury or overuse then it can be very painful.

Treatment will often involve a period of rest and then physiotherapy to gently get the joints and muscles moving again through to strengthening, to get you back to your activities and sports.

Sometimes hip problems can present themselves as “sprains”, so if things aren’t improving with simple measures it is always advisable to have this reviewed by a surgeon.
